Game Rules

These are the rules that this game is going to be operating under we plan to use 20th edition Werewolf unless it is late to be released, if 20th is late or we have overwhelming demand to start the game early then we will begin using LARP rules.

These rules maybe change or modified as the new edition comes out we will supply new information as we can.

Game Structure

The Game is head by the head Storyteller who leads the Storyteller Staff, they manage general things such as experience renown and house rules. Each Pack will have it's own ST who will be called the Pack Storyteller, this person's job is to run the pack.

You can become a Pack Storyteller by simply contacting the storyteller staff and finding persons to be in your pack.

How to Get a Character

Step One: Find a Pack and a Pack Storyteller

You can either come into this game already knowing who your Pack Storyteller will be or you may post a character looking for a Pack and a Pack Storyteller may contact you. There is also a section of the Wiki for Packs Seeking members.

All characters must Start as Cliath though a pack ST may graduate a character to Fostern if that player has no other Fostern character if it fits the purposes of the pack, this graduation may happen before the character enters play.

Submission should be made on our Forum. For a visual aid on how to complete this process on the forum click here.

The Pack Storyteller should gather the following information.

  • Character's Real Name, Deed Name, Rank, Breed, Auspice, Tribe, Pack
  • Stats
  • Known History
  • Current Status

Step Two: Storyteller Staff Review

Sheets are sent to one of the accounts on the forum who have Storyteller beside them. If you are having problems finding one then send them here. Storyteller staff will send approvals and any questions or rejections they have back to the Pack Storyteller to change or deal with them as they go. Until the sheets come out there will be a chance that characters will be approved without Stats.

Step Three: Additions to the Website and Creation of Subaccounts.

When a character is accepted, they will be added to the the player's account as a subaccount and added to the pack member group so that they can post in all sections of the pack's board. Their character entry will also be added to the website. At this time an image of the character's Homid and Lupus forms maybe sent to Alter who will create the image for the character profile and add it to the wiki web site.

Experience Points and Renown

Step One: What Is Canon?

Only actions that are posted as logs in the pack or Step Sections are considered canon, these logs must be edited to be easily readable before being posted or else they will not be considered canon and will be deleted a week after their submission day.

Edited Logs must have times stamps removed from them and separation between each character's actions. They should be easy to read either in the style of a script or a story. Any occ Chatter should be removed.

Anything Else that takes place is considered Fan Fiction.

Minor things like hanging out with a pack member or having a romantic night with your kinfolk don't need to be cover, a Good Guide line is if you might get in trouble for it or if you will later go AH HA! and spring it on someone, it needs to be covered in logs.

Step Two: Gaining Experience Points

Experience Points will be awarded by the Staff Storytellers not the Pack Storytellers, Experience Points will only be given out for Mission and Storylines run by the Pack Storyteller or a Staff Storyteller choosing to run something in the Caern, unless the Pack Storyteller goes on Hiatus then Experience will be awarded for Social Play so that packs do not fall behind due to their Pack Storyteller needing to take a break for what ever reason.

Experience Load outs will be sent to Pack Storytellers to share with their players unless the Pack Storyteller is Absent in which case the Staff Storytellers will contact each player to inform them of their total.

Step Three: Gaining Renown

The Staff Storytellers will keep track of Renown for all Logs in Private, Once every Two Months the Pack Galliards will at the Moot get to roll for having the Renown Recognized by the Spirits. This roll will be done after the Galliard basically tell their story. Should the Galliard be unable to make it they may post their stories along with their dice pool to Moot Logs and have the roll made for them. Renown Gains and Losses will be based off of a Litany written by the pack Philodox and approved by the Pack Storyteller and then the Storyteller Staff.

The Results of the Rolls will go as fallows.

  • 0 Successes: No Renown gained by anyone in the pack.
  • 1 Success: All Pack members gain half the renown for deeds mentioned by the Galliard
  • 2 Successes: All Pack members gain full renown rewards for deeds mentioned by the Galliard
  • 3 Successes: All Pack members gain full renown rewards for deeds mentioned by the Galliard and the Pack Alpha gains half of all negative and positive rewards gained by other pack members.1
  • 4 Successes: All Pack Members gain full renown rewards for deeds mentioned by the Galliard and the pack Alpha gains half of all positive rewards gain by other pack members.1
  • 5 Successes: The full pack gain all positive rewards recorded for their pack by the Storyteller Staff regardless of how long it has been sitting in recorded and weather or not it was mentioned and all negative rewards mentioned by the pack Galliard.
  • Botch: All pack members gain no positive renown and all negative renown that has not been recorded, the Alpha loosed half for any negative renown awarded to other pack members.2

All Halved renown will be rounded down

Step 3: Spending Experience

Experience expenditures must be submitted to pack Storytellers who will approve and send them to the Storyteller Staff. Once the Storyteller Staff has approved them the Player's total Experience will be sent to their Pack Storyteller and their new modification will be added to the website. The Pack Storyteller will be told why if the expenditure is rejected.

New Background like Fetishes, Allies etc maybe added to a character by the Pack Storyteller, however they can only be used in the rest of the game if the player spends Experience points to make them usable and at that time they will be added to the player's sheet.

Step 4: Challenging for Rank

Rank Challenges will go through the Sept Elders who are organized by Auspice, the Rank Challenge will then be run by a member of the Storyteller Staff, the logs will be posted by the player edited to be easy to read and then the Staff Storyteller will add the new Rank if the player is successful. Should the player Fail the Rank Challenge the Staff Storyteller will post the logs and renown will be deducted from the character for failing the quest.

Game Management

Rules Calls and Appeals Process

Initial Calls must be made by the pack Storyteller, they will be in effect until the end of the game session. Pack Storytellers may ask for opinions but in the end these calls are made by the pack ST.

The events of this rules call may not be retconned.

If afterwards a player feels that the house rules or the rules from the book are being violated, or they do not like the call made and wish in future for it to be changed then they may appeal to the Storyteller Team.

To do this the player must Message one of the Storyteller Accounts on the Forum with the basics of the appeal. At this time the Storyeller Team may decline to hear the appeal.

The Storyteller team will discuss the matter, Head ST retaining final veto. A Message will be sent out via Management account. At this time the ruling maybe added to house rules if deemed necessary.

Adding New Rules

A storyteller or a Player may ask for a rule to be added to the house rules, a player may do so by asking their Pack Storyteller to speak for them. A Pack Storyteller may post a poll with Ya or Nay as the options and an outline of what the new rule will be, this pole must be posted in the Story Proposal Section of the Board.

Pack Storytellers may then Vote on this new rule. If the majority of answers are Ya then the rule will move up to the storyteller team who may veto or except the new rule, head storyteller retains veto power.

If the rule is excepted then the Head Storyteller will write it to suit her liking and add it to the House Rules Section of the Wiki.
